About Black Tea
Black tea is fully oxidized, so the leaves of black tea are darker than either green tea or oolong.There is a good reason why black type of tea is number one tea over white, green, and oolong tea. It is beacuse it offers the most varieties and is the most preferred world-wide. It is also usually the cheapest despite being the most processed. Black tea has a longer storage life than either green or oolong tea.
There are many different types of black tea. It makes a good breakfast tea as well as an afternoon treat, and is also commonly used to make iced tea. It is drunk all over the world, and in America, makes up for over 90 percent of consumed tea. The three main producing countries are, India, Sri Lanka, and China.
Black tea has an astringency and bitterness, which can be reduced by adding milk and sugar which is most popular in the west. In China and other parts of Asia, black tea is usually served straight. Other additives besides milk and sugar include lemon juice, especially good for iced tea, herbs such as mint and basil, and herbs such as cardamom, cloves, and ginger are added in some parts of the world.

Drinking black tea is also a very healthy addition to your diet. Similiar to green tea, research shows that black teas help in lowering cholesterol, stimulating the heart and circulatory system, keeping blood vessels soft, regulating blood sugar and lowering blood pressure. In addition, it helps to prevent heart disease and strokes.
