Kashmiri Chai Tea recipe

Description

This preparation gives a nutty flavor due to the powdered almonds. The taste in enhanced by cinnamon and cardamom as well. Saffron is a luxury, and if not available, can be omitted.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp finely powdered almonds
  • 4 bruised pods of cardamom
  • 1 small piece of cinnamon broken into tiny pieces
  • 1 tsp loose tea leaves
  • 4 cups of water
  • A pinch of saffron threads
  • Honey to taste

Procedure

Add all ingredients except the almonds and the saffron threads to the water. Bring to boil, and simmer for five minutes. Place a tea spoon of almonds at the bottom of each cup and pour the brewed mixture over them. Add honey to taste to each cup.
